Has anybody got any ideas where we could go that we have not been before .

My choice for next year is this TRAX .

With Club Displays
TRAX has the biggest display of club cars, with over 4500 cars from nearly 200 clubs. Featuring everything from classic Corvettes to modified Skylines, whatever marque you’re into, you’ll find it at TRAX.
Plus this year had .

Lotus Exige Drives
Drive a Lotus Exige around the Stowe Circuit accompanied by a professional racing instructor. Purchase these drives on the day from the Silverstone stand located opposite the Brooklands Suite marked on the show guide. £35 per session.

Lotus Exige Passenger Rides
Experience the thrills of being driven around the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit by a professional racing instructor. Purchase these rides on the day from the Silverstone stand located opposite the Brooklands Suite marked on the show guide. £30 per ride.

Eddie King.

Why don't you all drive in Convoy to one of the once Monthly Sunday car meets at Wythal (Just north of Alcester) & wow them all with a Herd of Lotus?
I've been there in the past; a whole load of Enthusiasts & very friendly.
A nice thing to do on one of those occasional bright Winter's days.

Cheers
John

Have you been having a busy time of it Nick? else that's the longest office move I've known Laughing
I think it would be great to have something organised around the Midlands, maybe something new. Supercar Sunday was very good this year, maybe something similar again or a different style of event - there are so many to choose from.

I guess you are looking for ideas for the 2nd Thursday in the month midland area meeting so how about:

1. An evening at Paul Matty's.
2. Trip to Silverstone Lotus.
3. Autotest/ drive test on the Arrow Mill car park (see Colin Smith to run it)
4. 'Bring your pictures DVD's, books etc' to all have a look (ideal for a winters evening).
5. Invite Matt Oxley to talk about his Elan or Esprit restoration.
6. Scalextrix evening at the Arrow Mill.

That's about it.
Cheers,
Tim.

I look forward to some monthly meetings like Tim mentioned and I know you have in mind Eddie. Would be nice to get out for more constructive meetings, learn a thing or two about the cars, suppliers, services etc. The fiberglass repair talk from Option1 was informative and came in useful quicker than I could have anticipated. Would like to go to Lotus Silverstone Wink

Tim just mentioned how impressed he was with the F1 Engine plant he's just been to.
Although it's now nearly 10 years old now the BMW Engine Plant in Coleshill just outside of Birmingham is also quite "shiny".
If you want to see a modern Engine Factory & how BMW & Mini Engines are made, a trip there would be well worthwhile.
If I was still there I'd have shown you around myself.

Cheers
John

Whereabouts in Coleshill is it John? I used to be in Coleshill a lot and can't say I'd ever heard a mention of it until now? There is a large industrial park/estate there, think Chris's factory is there somewhere also.
