Howdy.

I've recently come across an Elite that's been sitting in someone's garage here in the States for quite some time. The previous owner has stuffed a GIANT V8 into the car & has done some interesting body work to the hood & front bumper area to make it fit. Having been in Southern California for the last 30 years, it's surprisingly rust free (from the parts of the chassis I can see), but it hasn't moved in years. I'm seriously considering purchasing it with the sole intention ...

Thought I'd start a thread on the Seven I'm restoring, I bought it in the summer and am hoping to have it finished for next spring.

As bought, it had been highly modified for racing in the past and been off the road since 1985.

It came with a spare chassis which is fortunate as the original was past restoring, even the spare one needed a considerable amount of work. I had it soda blasted first.

All the parts marked with an X needed replacing

I'm part of the production team for Wheeler Dealers. As part of the new series we're featuring a '68 S4 Elan. For those of you not aware Wheeler Dealers is a program where we buy iconic cars, fix their faults and then sell them on for a profit.

At the beggining of the episode we always film a 'pristine version' of the featured vehicle. This is to show the viewer how good the vehicle can look and what we're trying to achieve by the end of the program.

As such we need an Elan, ...

1st; Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)

2nd; Lewis Hamilton (McLaren)

3rd; Michael Schumacher (Mercedes)

12th; Heikki Kovalainen (Lotus)

14th; Jarno Trulli (Lotus)

The Lotus Elise revolutionised the sportscar market 14 years ago when the small lightweight agile 2-seat mid engine sportscar was introduced. By ensuring that the Elise stuck rigidly to Lotus’ core values of performance through light weight, the Elise was able to produce supercar performance with city car economy.

I need a 2 inch section of the windscreen trim of an Elan.

I think I have found somebody that can make me replica trim for going round the windscreen.

He says he can do it in black rubber or a clear rubber with foil back. He asked for me to get a section so he can see how the original should be and to make a form for the mould.

The only thing he makes 50 meter lengths so want it to be right, if it is good I will have some for sale and ...

Unfortunately I can't see this version making it's way into the Proton sales rooms in the UK. Daily drive ... yes please!
